Welcome
Welcome to New Directions! Our mission is to support your child’s success and help them transition back to their home school. We are dedicated to providing the highest quality care and services.
While your child is with us, they will receive a variety of therapeutic services, including individual and group therapy, as well as in-classroom supervision. You will participate in regularly scheduled meetings with your child’s therapist to discuss their progress and any concerns you may have. Communication with the therapist will be ongoing through face-to-face meetings, telephone calls, and daily journals.
Academically, your child will receive education from Pennsylvania Department of Education certified teachers. Progress reports and report cards will be distributed quarterly. Please note that advancing to the next grade level remains the responsibility of your home school district.

What Parents are Saying
“Hello, I would like to say my son looks forward to going to school at New Directions each morning. He loves the way the staff, doctor, nurses, and everyone else helps him to fulfill his day.
The school will help with your child’s needs and abilities to help them succeed. If you have any questions or concerns, they will help you, no problem. They make phone calls on a regular basis to help you help your child. Also, the meetings once a month or every other month depending on your child’s needs help you as a parent to see the progress they make, what needs attention, and whatever else needs addressed. I would recommend New Directions to any child struggling and needing the help they need to succeed. My son has been with them for a couple years and is doing so well for him. Thank you! If you give them a chance to help your child, it’s so worth it.”

“Our family’s experience with New Directions has been the least to say a wild one. It came at the most perfect time when life was honestly the hardest. They have been more than capable and willing to give not just my daughter the building blocks we didn’t know she needed but the building blocks for my entire family. They have helped us through situations that I could not wrap my own head around and made it tolerable for us to be able to get through it not only safely but with an understanding. I am grateful for New Directions and honestly the road that brought us there. My daughter has been able to communicate, understand, and all around grow with all the knowledge and care she receives.”

“New Directions was a great help for both my son and my family. All the staff were so patient with him (and me at times) helping him calm down and get in the right mindset. He is so defensive, simple discussions to get his side of the story to work through issues set him ablaze in self-defense agitation “SDA” (my terminology). His behavior could be and was very disruptive to both the teacher and students. The New Directions gave him the attention and supervision he needed. Helping to give him the coping skills to work through the “SDA” episodes. He learned that every discussion was not an attack and began to understand discussions in life need to occur to help everyone understand how to process each situation. He was able to rejoin public high-school and made it successfully through his 9th grade year. Not without incident… but he did it. I am proud of him for this and have high hopes he will continue to utilize the coping and social skills he learned at New Directions throughout high school and the rest of his life!”
