Treatment with prescription medications is the medical and legal responsibility of the psychiatrist on the treatment team at New Directions. The program Child Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner prescribes all psychiatric medication. During your child’s treatment at New Directions psychiatric medications will only be prescribed through our treatment team and not your psychiatrist or PCP outside of the program. When your child is admitted, please notify their current prescribing physician that the New Directions’ psychiatry team will become responsible for following and prescribing your child’s medication.
